March 3, 2012 (Havana, Cuba) — Well established as one of the Habano Festival’s major events, the last stretch of the contest featured a painstaking end for the jury due to the skills and knowledge on Habanos showed by those who made it to the grand finale.

The best evaluation was for Mexico’s Luis Garcia, followed by Chile’s Andres Arteaga y Cuban rookie competitor Daniel Reyes.

The International Habanosommelier Contest, that’s become one of the most effective tools to spread the art and tradition of Habano all around the world, has held eleven edition that have gathered contestants from nearly two dozen nations. The end results have had a major impact as a way to get in touch with this product and the Cuban culture.
