Jesus Fuego of J. Fuego Cigars showed off a pair of upcoming releases across various social media platforms this past week. The first was a picture of the J. Fuego Edición de Familia, a new limited edition announced on March 14 via CigarBrief.com.

Edición de Familia is expected to be available in box-pressed Toro, box-pressed Belicoso and Robusto formats in a glass tubo with each vitola packed in a ten-count box. The cigar will be limited to about 150 retailers, with each retailer getting five boxes. The wrapper on the first release will be a 10-year aged sun-grown Sumatran with subsequent releases most likely being different variations of wrapper and filler.

Earlier today, Fuego showed off the Origen Maduro Originals via his Facebook page. Fuego said that the Origen Maduro Original will be available “for sure” at the IPCPR trade show in early August, though he’s hoping to have some available in June depending on how the aging process goes. “Thanks to those who asked for it. You were all right – this is awesome,” Fuego noted on his Facebook page.

The Origen Maduro Original takes the new Origen Maduro, which has seen two soft launches, and brings it down to the very popular Original size, a 5 inch x 44 size that is sold in soft-packs of five unbanded cigars. The Origen Maduro was announced at the 2011 IPCPR trade show where it was made available in a Signature Collection sampler.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
