A Visit to La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate

Editor’s Note: As you know, Brooks and I were amongst many bloggers invited down to Drew Estate a few weeks ago. Both Brooks and I brought our cameras, he used his (fortunately) and I didn’t, again, fortunately. On a personal note, there are very  few halfwheel posts I actually have anticipation towards seeing, this is one of them.

Great pics. Every day, this is the first cigar site i visit to get my cigar fix because of posts like this one. Agree with JD that the B&W shot of the girls is really well done.  Thanks!

Wow.  The photos are simply amazing.  Looking at each one of them brings back memories of our trip and makes me relive it.  One of my very favorite photos is a black & white shot of three girls (Vertical).  They were standing on the outside of despaillo as we left the room where we humidify the wrappers in production.  As the girls giggled while Brooks was taking the photo, I saw that they were enjoying the attention but at the same time apprehensive.  I spoke to them, and told them to relax and that it is all in good fun.

And thats the point afterall, isn't it ...?  This hobby, this passion, this culture that we live is all about fun and all about experiencing life.  Nicaragua is a beautiful story, but the storyteller must explain it in a beautiful way or it looses its core.  Brooks tells a beautiful story in his unspoken words.  The man is an inspiration to many, including me - The Mack Dizzle.

Thank you to all the Dudes who took the time to make the trip to www.cigarsafari.com and listen to our propaganda and bullshit.  Along the way, I hope that you enjoyed it.  For the most of us, or at least some of us, these will be some of the best times of our lives.  Enjoy every minute of it, as you never know when it will slip away.

Much respect.
