One of the busiest booths of the show? EloGio. The boutique’s tiny booth was jammed pack with retailers making it near impossible to get the pictures needed. Who is EloGio? A true boutique. The cigars are blended by Carlos Pereda Robaina, grandson of the late Alejandro Robaina. Their coveted secret is the LSV wrapper that is grown by Carlos and Armando Robaina in Somoto, Nicaragua. Production stays below 50,000 annually, making it one of the smallest companies in the industry. (To give you an idea of how small they are, Drew Estate makes about 60,000 cigars a day.)
EloGio Excepcionales
It’s massive. For those wondering, 5 5/8 x 82. Presentation is impeccable, and the wow factor is priceless. The Excepcionales is limited to just 3,000 cigars and only offered at some of the larger EloGio accounts.
Going into the show, there were two brands that had been gaining quite a cult following within the industry, EloGio and Curivari. In Vegas, the success of boutiques was one of the ongoing themes of the show, and EloGio was at the top of that leader board. — el niño diablo.
