News: Drew Estate Slates MUWAT Digital Son 6 for Outland Cigars
As noted by Cigar Coop and Leaf and Grape, the My Uzi Weighs a Ton line will be receiving a sixth vitola in 2013, a 5 x 42 Corona named “Digital Son 6.” The cigar will be the second retailer exclusive for the MUWAT line with Digital Son 6 headed to Charlotte, N.C.’s Outland Cigars. Previously, the MUWAT EF Bait Fish was exclusive to New Havana Cigars before heading for national launch earlier this year.

The blend for the Digital Son 6 is described as unique within the MUWAT portfolio, similar to the tweaked EF blend, but with a new filler leaf. In addition to Bait Fish’s expanded distribution, Drew Estate added the fifth size to its partnership with the Joya de Nicaragua factory, a 5 1/2 x 52 Parejo called +11.
Jonathan Drew will be at Outland Cigars for an event on January 25, 2013 where Digital Son 6 will launch. Pricing is not yet announced, although Digital Son 6 will come in 10-count bundles.

THE INSIDE STORY TO THE NAME "DIGITAL SON 6":
Jake79 and Ascrivner ... you guys inquired about the name "Digital Son 6" and I wanted to take a moment to respond. To begin, it was interesting that Jake70 asked about the Bobby Digital. Bobby Digital is one of the more important alias for the leader of the WU TANG CLAN, RZA. He has many many other alias, such as Bobby Steels, the Abbot, etc, but the Bobby Digital is certainly his go to alias, especially when he is out of Chi or on the aggressive side.
As an (unofficial) student of the RZA, it was many years ago that I learned the difference between "Digital" and "Analog", and it had little to do with sound - more to do with the way of life. Throughout the 25+ years that I have listened to Hip Hop/Rap music there has been nobody who has influenced me more than the RZA. The "DIGITAL SON 6" is an indirect tribute to him because he is the original "Digital" and all of his students, including me, are indirectly sons of the living Abbot. While it would have probably been more appropriate to wait until the 7th release of the MUWAT Brand, I have a secondary reason for dropping the name on the Outland Crew. Remember, the "7" has a religious significance that comes from "the Numbers", but I was set with using the Digital for two close friends who have always been digital in a different sense, Stace Berkland and Cigar Coop - who work for Outland.
I guess that I could go on and on. As many of you know, for many years I have incorporated my personal life into the Drew Estate brands and have brought music, typically Hip Hop into it since year 2,000 or so with the release of "Blackout" ... Well, I have to go to bed. Nuff said for now.
