News: Nestor Miranda Special Selection Connecticut to Debut at IPCPR 2012

Miami Cigar & Co. has confirmed details for its upcoming addition to the Nestor Miranda collection, the Nestor Miranda Special Selection Connecticut. Previously, the cigar has only been offered in Nicaraguan Habano Rosado and Oscuro wrappers. The Special Selection Connecticut uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over the normal Dominican, Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers.

The Special Selection Connecticut will be offered in four sizes:

  • Coffee Break (4 1/2 x 50) — $6.80
  • 5.5 x 54 (5 1/2 x 54) — $7.90
  • Piramide (6 1/8 x 52) — $8.40
  • 6 x 60 — $8.60

Like the other Special Selections and Art Deco, the Special Selection Connecticut is made at the My Father Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua.

The store I work for (Binny's, in Chicago) has had an exclusive on 3 sizes (robusto, torpedo, and churchill, all VERY box pressed) of SS Connecticut since December.  My understanding is these previously had been given away as demos and we took all the additional stock.  They've been very popular, and are pretty good for the steep discount prices we've had on them.  To my taste they are not worth the prices listed above, but for a medium-strength Connecticut-wrapped cigar, I'm sure there will be a continued following for them!
