News: Viaje Holiday Blend 2012 & Candy Cane Coming

Andre Farkas posted a picture of Viaje’s next release, Holiday Blend 2012 and Holiday Blend Candy Cane. Candy Cane has been rumored as a possible release since late last year, but was delayed until 2012. At this time there are no other details other than Candy Cane appears to be a Holiday Blend release and not a WLP release.

On Monday, Viaje announced that Stuffed Turkey, the presumed November WLP release, was delayed “until Christmas.” It is unclear if it will ship with Holiday Blend.

Well gives me some time to save cash up for these bad boys.

Charlie, are there 2 releases of the Holiday Blend (1 regular and the Candy Cane) this year or is the Candy Cane the Holiday Blend for this year?  Just curious because you mentioned two in the article, but the picture just shows the Candy Cane.

@Charlie Minato @BigPars - yes, can you please clarify - I'm a little confused as well. And I assume this will be coming out about the same time as the (delayed) WLP Stuffed Turkey?

@johnny_five_is_alive @Charlie Minato @BigPars Guys, we just don't know at the moment. Farkas is usually sparse on details about cigars and shipping, and this is one of those times. We are working to get more information, but at this moment, the above is all we know.

Having said that, I think that looking at the photo above, we can safely assume that the Candy Cane is a Holiday Blend (since the box says "Holiday Blend Candy Cane"). We will update as soon as we know more.

@Brooks @johnny_five_is_alive @Charlie Minato Thanks for the update Brooks, I'm sure when you have more info it will be posted.  I'm a fan of the Holiday Blend and was looking forward to this year's release, but I really hope there are two blends because I'm not sold on the Candy Cane yet.

Can't wait ttry both.  One thing I really enjoy about Viaje's, DE, and Tatuaje (amongst others) is how well thought out their vision is. There a method to the madness that usually results in a damn fine cigar.

@maxx  because retailers are getting sick of stocking all this guys crap and are starting to refuse orders, it gets to tough to pay schip taxes when your money is tight

@njp70to70cigars @maxx His 15 minutes of fame is almost up just in time for the Holiday Blend. I mean holidays, oops. I keep hearing it too njp, retailers are not very excited about these Viaje blends anymore and neither are consumers. Demand seems to be slipping for sure. Could people be realizing that these blends are just not as amazing as they are marketed to be? TRUTH!

@AronL @cigartruth @njp70to70cigars @maxx             they are not all bad Aron, I just work in the business and the Viaje stuff has a hard time competing with high quality sticks that are always consistent, the Viaje stuff usually burns terrible and I don't care what anyone says about flavor, but it's hard to enjoy a good cigar if it needs to be light back up every 5 minutes, the worst part is even if you like one, none of it is regular production, and if you can't produce quality items on a regular basis, what's the point of being in the business

@maxx I think it's quite possible Candy Cane was never a realistic 2011 release. It's interesting, Farkas keeps some projects really quiet and others, like Trifecta/Candy Cane/DES II, he talks about over a year before the release.
