Pinar Del Rio has added to a growing list of cigars making their debut at the IPCPR convention and trade show in August.

Ekert Cordon, National Sales Director, confirmed that the PDR Reserva Superior is going to get “an extremely limited release” in a 6 x 66 Salomon size. Production numbers and packaging haven’t been finalized for this cigar yet.

The company will also be debuting the A. Flores, a new cigar that will not be available until late September or October. It will come in both a Natural and Maduro version of its Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, with a  Nicaraguan Habano binder and filler consisting of Nicaraguan Habano and Dominican Corojo. It will come in three sizes:

  • SP 52 – 5 x 52
  • SP 54 – 6 x 54
  • SP 58 – 7 x 58

These cigars join the previously announced Flores y Rodriguez Natural and Maduro and the Small Batch Reserve Habano and Small Batch Reserve Maduro in making their official debut at the trade show. The Small Batch Reserve shipped to existing Pinar Del Rio accounts in April.

Beyond what is being shown at their own booth, Pinar Del Rio’s presence will be felt at Herrera Cigars and El Primer Mundo, both of whom have new releases being made at PDR Cigars. Herrera Cigars, the parent company of Frank Herrera’s La Caridad del Cobre, will release a three cigar line called the Biography, while Sean Williams of El Primer Mundo will be showing off La Hermandad, a new three vitola line.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
